Are you passionate about challenging barriers to outdoor recreation? Do you have skills in finance, HR, legal, volunteer management, or fundraising? Do you have 5-10 hours a month to volunteer?

The Ottawa Outdoor Gear Library (OOGL) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors and help guide our mission of providing equitable access to outdoor experiences for all.

About OOGL:
Since 2021, OOGL has been a hub for gear lending and outdoor programming, empowering over 800 members and 30+ partner organizations. We focus on serving individuals and groups who face barriers to outdoor activity, including low-income individuals, racialized communities, 2SLGBTQ+ people, newcomers, and youth. As a board member, you will:

• Help shape the strategic direction of a growing organization.
• Leverage your expertise to break systemic barriers in outdoor recreation.
• Connect with a passionate community of changemakers and outdoor enthusiasts.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking individuals with experience in:

• Finance: Budget management, financial planning, and oversight.
• HR: Payroll, policy development, and organizational culture.
• Legal: Nonprofit compliance, contracts, and risk management.
• Volunteer Management: Recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.
• Fundraising: Donor relations, grant writing, and event planning.

Application Process:
To ensure alignment with OOGL’s mission and values, we ask all applicants to complete a brief application outlining their experience, skills, and commitment to equity and inclusion in outdoor recreation. Successful applicants will be contacted to schedule a follow-up interview. We will be prioritizing applicants who identify as racialized. Due to the organization’s limited capacity, we will be unable to provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants.
